Jacobs Billboard Company began in 1985 in Sacramento, California as an 8 Sheet billboard plant. Stockton and Modesto were added in 1988 and Tacoma, Washington was added in 2000. We now have bulletins in Sacramento, Stockton and Tacoma, and 8-Sheets in the Stockton/Modesto area.
The Owner, Dave Jacobs, is a second-generation billboard guy. His father, Dean Jacobs was with the former Foster & Kleiser for over 40 years. Dave began his career as a high school teacher and basketball coach from 1973-1984, and then decided to follow in his father’s footsteps. Dave has been married to his wife Carol for 32 years (2007) and has two children. His son Dean is a police officer in Stockton and his daughter Jennifer is in her second year of a basketball scholarship at Central Washington University.
The General Manager, Rick Rarick, has been with Dave from the beginning and helped start Jacobs Billboard Company. They met in 1983 while Rick was working for Thompson Displays. Rick has been responsible for leasing a big part of the Stockton 8-Sheet plant. Rick has been married to Marcia for 17 years and between them have four children, seven grandchildren and counting.
